| Memphis drops 14 spots in this week's AP Top 25 poll, falling to #22. Memphis started off the week with an upset loss on the road to then-17th ranked Michigan, 73-61. That was followed by an overtime win on the road against Tennessee, 99-97. The Tigers closed the week with an upset loss on the road to Georgetown, 91-88.
Kentucky grabs the number one ranking following a week in which they first got a victory at home against Radford, 88-40. After that came another win at home against Portland, 87-63. North Carolina lost their number one ranking with wins against South Carolina, 87-62 and Tennessee State, 102-69 and a loss to UNLV, 90-80. UNLV breaks into the Top 25 at #18 with a win at home over Cal Poly, 75-52, a win on the road over USC, 66-55, and an upset win on the road over then-1st ranked North Carolina. Saint Louis comes in at #23 with wins against Oklahoma, 83-63, Villanova, 80-68, and Boston College, 62-51. Florida State falls out of the Top 25 this week with a win on the road over Massachusetts, 73-53, an upset loss on the road to Harvard, 46-41, and an overtime loss on the road to then-4th ranked Connecticut, 78-76. Arizona drops out after a loss to San Diego State, 61-57.
Missouri is a big mover this week to #13 after a win on the road over Notre Dame, 87-58, an upset win on the road over then-20th ranked California, 92-53, and a win at home over Binghamton, 88-59.
